Here at SYZYGY Global, we are proud to have become the trusted pergola contractor for high end restaurants, coveted country clubs and world-renowned businesses throughout South Florida. We have also had the opportunity to work with the rapidly-expanding Christ Fellowship Church to design shade and rain protecting pergolas for its location in Port St. Lucie, and recently, its soon-to-open church in Westlake, Florida.
Christ Fellowship is a non-denominational church with numerous locations throughout South Florida. Led by Pastors Todd & Julie Mullins, the church welcomes parishioners to locations in Palm Beach Gardens, Belle Glade, Boynton Beach, Downtown West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Okeechobee, Port St. Lucie, Riviera Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Stuart, Vero Beach, and Boca Raton. Christ Fellowship Church also provides services in Spanish, and online for those unable to attend in-person services. The church grew rapidly from a small Bible study group in 1984 to more than 30,000 active members attending services each weekend. For church leadership, each of their churches is more than just a building in which to join for prayer, they are the beating heart of the church family and a very tangible extension of its community services.
Seeking to make their new churches as inviting as possible to members and guests, Christ Fellowship Church called upon SYZYGY Global to design inviting entryways for their newest locations in Westlake. SYZYGY’s design team worked with the church contractors to evaluate several pergola design choices. Ultimately a classic black-on-black pergola with black frame and black louvers was chosen to provide sun and rain protection at each of the three entry points for the new churches.
The clean exterior lines of the pergolas fit perfectly with the modern exterior architecture of the new church facilities. The modern aluminum pergolas will provide the durability and wind resistance needed for the tropical South Florida weather, and will offer welcome shaded space for churchgoers to wait for their ride once service is let out.
