The Aluminum Association of Florida (AAF) has honored SYZYGY Global with a 2022 Aluminum Construction Industry Award in its “Carports, Canopies and Walkways” category for our modern porte cochère entryway at the legendary Club at Admirals Cove in Jupiter, Florida.
The AAF, as the trade association for aluminum contractors, aluminum fabricators and aluminum-related businesses in Florida, was originally founded to help local building departments establish new building codes in the mid-70s. The non-profit organization now has chapters throughout the State of Florida which educate, organize and represent the interests of contractors and their manufacturers, distributors and associated professionals in the aluminum construction industry.
Each year, the AAF hands out awards to the best-built aluminum construction projects varying from best pool enclosures, railing systems, screen rooms, among its award categories. For its 2022 honors, the AAF recognized SYZYGY Global in its competitive “Carports, Canopies and Walkways” category for the elegant porte cochère walkway we designed and built for The Club at Admirals Cove.
Undertaken as part of a multimillion-dollar expansion of the legendary club’s facilities, Admirals Cove challenged the SYZYGY Global team to design a sprawling outdoor cover that would welcome members and guests to the clubhouse, and provide rain and sun protection for the winding pathway to its wellness center and spa. With its membership of professional golfers, business tycoons, and politicians, the Club at Admirals Cove routinely hosts formal gala events, and the new porte cochère ensures arriving guests a dry walk from their vehicles to the main club.
The pergola we designed and installed was crafted from 13 customized zones covering 1,274 square feet. Featuring unique geometry that curved to follow the winding walkway, the massive pergola stretched from the driveway where members stepped from their vehicles, through an adjoining courtyard, and protects guests from the elements as they enter the clubhouse.
